Fire in Nasewaupee Wednesday Morning

An emergency call was made for a structure fire in the Town of Nasewaupee late Wednesday morning. At about 10:45AM, the call came from a property owner on Town Park Road, just north of Sand Bay Road. The Nasewaupee Fire Department responded with assistance from the departments of Sturgeon Bay, Brussels-Union-Gardner, and Southern Door. The Egg Harbor Department was also called for additional assistance, but that call was then canceled while they were still en route. Nasewaupee Fire Chief Jacob Schartner reports the fire was in a detached 3-stall garage which contained a 4-wheeler and a couple boats, and the home was approximately 100 feet away. He says they had the fire extinguished within 45 minutes…

The injured person sent to the hospital was the property owner. All responders were able to clear the scene by 1:20PM, and the cause of that fire remains under investigation.
