Fire Destroys Bus in Carlsville

Fire of undetermined origin destroyed a Kobussen school bus in the parking lot at Harbor Village in Carlsville Tuesday afternoon. Egg Harbor Fire Chief Steve Schopf says the bus was unoccupied at the time of the fire. Three fire trucks were dispatched to the scene after the page came in at about 1:20pm. Chief Schopf says fire department personnel provided traffic control on the highway on one side of the fire while the Door County Sheriff’s Department handled traffic on the other side. About 900 gallons of water & a small amount of foam was needed to put out the blaze. The majority of the fire damage was on the inside of the bus, but there was some outside damage near the right rear wheel. Firefighters cleared the scene at about 4:30pm. The fire remains under investigation.
