The Sturgeon Bay School District is moving into the final phase of the search for a new superintendent. Interviews are planned for Monday & Tuesday. Last week, we reported that the list of perspective candidates for superintendent had been whittled down to two individuals, Dan Tjernagel, a Principal at Ripon High School & Doctor Dean Hess, a Principal in the Wausau School System. Five candidates were interviewed last week Wednesday & Thursday. Current Superintendent Joe Stutting has decided to take a similar position in his native state of Iowa & will begin his new job in July. The Sturgeon Bay Board of Education is hoping to approve the new superintendent at its regular board meeting on Wednesday, May 21st.
