Electrocution on Washington Island Saturday

Emergency responders were called to the intersection of Michigan Road and Rangeline Road on Washington Island Saturday morning for a reported electrocution. Just before 8AM, 27 year-old James C. Terrill of Fond du Lac was working for the Michels Corporation assisting with cable repairs after last week’s severe thunderstorm. From the initial investigation, a press release says Terrill came in contact with an energized line while working the island recovery efforts.
On the scene were the Washington Island Police, Fire Department, and emergency services. Eagle III was also called in, and their crew assisted with life-saving efforts. Those efforts were unsuccessful as Terrill was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An autopsy was conducted Monday by the Brown County Medical Examiner’s office, and those results are still pending. The incident remains under investigation, and no further information has been released at this time.
