Ken Rock, who has been acting as interim Door County Veterans Service Officer since November of 2010, has tendered his resignation, effective April 15th. Rock cited personal commitments that had been put on hold while he worked at the local Veterans Service Office. He said it has been an honor to serve Door County’s veterans. Rock had originally signed on for a six month hitch as CVSO when Scott McFarlane was called up for a tour of duty with the US Army. However, Colonel McFarlane’s tour was extended & Rock continued to administer the veteran’s office in Sturgeon Bay. Now the county board’s administrative services committee will consider what the next step should be.
