Door County Still Open for Business

As utility crews continue cleaning up after the wind storm that blew through the area Thursday night & Friday morning, the Door County Visitor Bureau would like to remind visitors & residents alike that Door County remains open for business. As power is restored, visitors are encouraged to call their lodging property to confirm their reservation, but many areas are already restored. The DNR has closed the County’s five State parks for the time being, but the County park system remains open, & crews are working on cleaning up limited access to some areas in the County park system. Due to the State park closure, campers who had planned to camp in campsites at those parks will need to find alternative sites, but Door County offers many other campsites, which can be browsed at www.doorcounty.com or call 1-800-527-3529. While some of the usual Door County experiences may not be available until later this weekend, the Visitor Bureau says a majority of the businesses, attractions & opportunities in the County are open & will be available to visitors as usual all weekend long. The Visitor Bureau also says the Fall color outlook for Door County remains excellent for the next few weeks. Vibrant Fall color is expected over the next 2-4 weeks with good color both before & after the estimated peak time of mid October.
