Two more opportunities for Door County residents to weigh in on the topic of a new Senior Resource Center in Door County will be available next week as the ad hoc committee looking into the matter for the Door County Board holds listening sessions in Northern & Southern parts of the county. On Monday, the committee listened to the opinions of residents during a listening session at the Government Center in Sturgeon Bay.
On Tuesday, August 2nd, the ad hoc committee will head to Bayview Terrace in Forestville for a listening session from 10:30 to 11:30AM. That afternoon, the Baileys Harbor town hall will be the location for a listening session from 1:30 to 3:30PM.
The county has engaged the firm of Angus-Young Associates of Janesville to work up plans for a facility to house the Senior Center, County Public Health Department, & an Aging & Disability Resource Center. Three possible sites for the facility have been identified, the current site near the fairgrounds, a site at the Door County Justice Center, or a site on the property of the YMCA sturgeon Bay program center.
