Sometimes the work that is done before a snowstorm hits is just as important to providing good winter driving conditions as what happens when the storm is over. Kolodziej says his department also has access to up to the minute weather information through the Department of Transportation. He says having good information on the severity of a storm comes in handy when plans are being made on how to clean up the mess after it has moved on.
