Door County Board Supervisors voted unanimously to approve a budget for 2012 this morning during it’s annual budget session. Two days were set aside for deliberations on the county budget, but, following tradition, the session wrapped up in one day. The budgetary proceedings began with a public hearing at 9AM, but no one addressed the board. Board members accepted the recommendation calling for a total budget for 2012 of nearly seventy $71,000,000, the proposed tax levy of $24,789,531, & the tax rate of $3.49 per thousand dollars of equalized valuation. The next meeting of the Door County Board is set for Tuesday, November 29th. No regular Door County Board meeting is scheduled for December.
