The Door 44 Winery has announced that a groundbreaking ceremony for a nearly 11,000 square foot winery, tasting room and vineyard is set for Wednesday, November 14th, on a 20-acre parcel, at the corner of Highway 42 and County P, in the Town of Sevastopol. The traditional turning of the soil will be take place at 11AM. Construction on the project is already underway with an anticipated opening of March 1st. Steve and Maria Johnson own and operate the current Door 44 Winery, established in 2013 and Parallel 44 Vineyard and Winery in 2007 in Kewaunee County. Steve Johnson says the winery will have an indoor/outdoor atmosphere with a patio overlooking the vineyard. He says visitors will be invited to walk the vineyard, taste the grapes and see the agricultural process of growing and producing the wine.
