Delarwelle Announces Sheriff’s Candidacy

Another candidate has announced his intentions to replace retiring Door County Sheriff Terry Vogel. Patrol Sergeant Steve Delarwelle will run as a Republican for the position. Delarwelle has been with the Sheriff’s Department since 1991, starting as a dispatcher/jailer, he began his patrol duties in 1992 & became Officer in Charge of the night shift in 2001. In May of 2010 Delarwelle was promoted to Patrol Sergeant. He has been a member of the department’s SWAT team for 19 years & is the Weapons Armorer, Snowmobile Patrol Coordinator & Field Training Officer. Delarwelle has an associate degree in police science & graduated from the Fox Valley Technical College Law Enforcement Academy in 1993, he also has a certificate from UW-Platteville in first line supervision.

Seargant Delarwelle is a lifelong Door County resident, graduating from Southern Door High School in 1976. He & his wife Therese have been married for 29 years & have two adult sons, Cory & Casey.

Delarwelle says his goal is “to continue to provide a high level of quality, cost effective service to the citizens & guests of Door County. “
