CVS Pharmacy Development Given Approval

The developer of a new CVS Pharmacy in Sturgeon Bay has been given the go-ahead to construct a 9000 square foot facility at the current of the Neighborhood Pub at 1407 Egg Harbor Road. On a four to one vote, the city’s aesthetic design & site plan review board provided the certificate of appropriateness needed for the project to move on. John Kolodziej cast the only “no” vote. If the process continues at the current pace, ground will be broken in the spring & the pub building demolished in favor of the pharmacy at the corner of Egg Harbor Road & 14th Avenue. No word as to whether or not the popular restaurant will be resurrected at a new location, although owner Paul Stoltman has retained the liquor license. Because the business meets the proper criteria for the area, the matter was only brought before the city plan commission & aesthetic review board for consideration. The plan commission okayed a variance for the pharmacy’s drive through & the board approved the configuration of the building & site with some modifications. At a previous meeting, members of the committee had asked for more detailed information on such matters as lighting, drainage & shielding roof top mechanicals.
