County K Work Begins Monday

The Door County Highway Department began work on upgrading the pavement on County K from Highway DK, west for just over two miles Monday. The project in the Town of Gardner consists of pulverizing the existing pavement, regrading the gravel base course, & placement of new asphalt pavement. The section of highway will be kept open during the construction project, with occasional closures when necessary, while crews are working on the site. All work is scheduled to be completed by July 17th. Motorists are urged to use caution in the construction zone & obey all detour signage. Drivers should also be aware that there will be loose gravel on the roadway at times & think safety when traveling around construction crews & equipment. Questions regarding this Door County Highway Department road project can be answered by contacting the department at 746-2500.
