It didn’t take long for several candidates interested in seats on the Door County board to circulate & file nomination papers. The opening day for taking out papers was last Thursday, & already, a half a dozen individuals have filed the information needed at the county clerk’s office. At the same time, two incumbent supervisors have indicated that they will not seek re-election. They are Neal Debaker in district six, representing parts of the Towns of Naswaupee & Sturgeon Bay, & Kari Anderson in district 17, representing parts of the Towns of Egg Harbor, Jacksonport & Baileys Harbor & the Village of Egg Harbor. The incumbents who have filed papers were Paul Dewitt in district 4, Leroy Liebe in district 5, Dan Austad in district 8 & Ken Fisher in district 10. Mark Feurstein will challenge Liebe in district 5. So far, nomination papers have also been taken out by Tim O’Conner in district 4 & Susan Kohout & Tim Dawidiuk in district 6. It should be noted that just because an individual has taken out papers does not mean they will actually mount a campaign.
