As anticipated, the Door County Board approved a recommendation that Danny Williams be named director of the county Emergency Services Department during its regular meeting Tuesday morning. Williams previously held the position for about 15 years, beginning in 1986. His career has included stints administering the state’s medical services program, private consulting work, & as director of med flight services for the University of Wisconsin. Williams has also been active as an instructor in the areas of medical, police & fire services. If approved, he’ll be paid just over $78,000 annually. The emergency services department is currently being administered on an interim basis by Operations Manager Tony Luccini. Luccini was handed the duties after director Eric Christianson resigned in October to pursue other employment possibilities. Prior to that, Dick Burress was director until his retirement.
