The annual chop & shop with a cop event is set for Saturday in Door County. Thirty children will team up with law enforcement officers & others to experience the best of the holiday season in a positive setting. Before the day is over, participants will have gone to a tree farm to cut a tree, do some shopping in Sturgeon Bay & return to the Knights of Columbus hall for lunch & gift wrapping. Chop & Shop with a Cop works because of fundraising activities & individual donations, the generous donations of local businesses & the commitment of law enforcement officers who give back to the community in a very personal way. The local Chop & Shop With a Cop program was started by Lieutenant Tammy Sternard of Door county Sheriff’s Department.
