The Sturgeon Bay police department is investigating reports of burglaries in the city in recent weeks. On Sunday, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of 12th avenue where a homeowner reported that screens in the front & rear of the home had been cut & bent. Officers conducted a search of the home, but did not find anyone inside. They also concluded that nothing was missing. However, it will cost about $100 to fix the damage.
City police are also working to determine who broke into a convenience store last week. Officers found the entry point in the rear of the store & confirmed that cash had been stolen in the burglary. They spent several hours at the store recovering evidence.
Anyone who may have information on either break in is encouraged to contact the Sturgeon Bay police department at 746-2450 or use the department’s web tip form found at www.sturgeonbaypolice.com/webtip.html
