The Boys & Girls Club of Door County will soon begin the search for a new chief executive officer. Heather Powell, who has held the position in Sturgeon Bay since January of 2011, has taken a similar position in Bellingham, Washington. She will rejoin her husband, Dan, who left as Chief Executive for the Door County YMCA in mid-September in order to take over as CEO of the Whatcom YMCA in Bellingham. Heather Powell has been credited with breathing new life into the local Boys & Girls Club by increasing participation & developing programs that have benefited children in the county, from those in elementary school to teenagers. Her last day on the job is October 28th. A search committee is expected to begin the process of finding a replacement this month.
