Body of Drowning Victim found

The body of a 45 year old Illinois man, who disappeared in the waters of Lake Michigan off of Washington Island following a boating accident on October 16th, has been recovered. Shortly before 1:30PM Monday, a resident on Washington Island called 911 to report that a body had washed up on the shoreline. Washington Island police & fire department personnel recovered the body about a quarter mile North of the original accident scene. It was later identified as Mayur Patel of Highland Park, Illinois. Patel & 49 year old Paolo Luzzati of Lisle, Illinois had taken a canoe out on that Sunday afternoon, but conditions deteriorated.
