Bayview Bridge Sidewalks Open

Sidewalks on the Bayview Bridge in Sturgeon Bay are now open for pedestrian use. The walkways have been closed since March as part of the $4.8 million upgrade to the structure. The span opened to vehicular traffic on June 26th after the project finished ahead of schedule & on budget. The bridge makeover included structural steel repair, bridge painting, electrical & machinery system upgrades, &, an overlay of the bridge deck & approaches. The work was done to extend the life of the bridge which opened in 1978 & hasn’t seen major repairs done since 2004.
