A large barn in the Town of Franklin, in Kewaunee County, was destroyed by fire on Friday. The Denmark Fire Department along with mutual aid from other departments in Brown, Kewaunee, and Manitowoc counties fought the blaze for much of the afternoon and into the evening. Some livestock was lost in the fire, wchich happened on Pine Grove Road, near County Hiway V. Water had to be trucked in from Shea Lake to fight the blaze. Apparently, there were no injuries to people at the farm or to firefighters fighting the inferno.
The cause of the fire is unknown as of yet, but it’s being investigation by the Denmark Fire Department.
