As a result of an investigation into the death of a 31 year old man whose body was found in Baileys Harbor September 16th, a 54-year old woman was taken into custody in the Town of Baileys Harbor on Thursday. The woman was cited for multiple offenses including possession of illegal drugs & obstructing a police officer. The Door County Sheriff’s Department will also ask the district attorney to issue similar criminal charges for a 36 year old county man. The action is the outgrowth of police work that included the execution of search warrants at two Baileys Harbor area homes Thursday. Door County Chief Deputy Gary Behling says the investigation is on-going & additional charges are possible. Behling says the Door County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by several agencies including the Wisconsin State Patrol, the Brown County drug task force, & the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department.
