The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Door County is announcing their “Adopt-a-Grandparent Program” to foster meaningful relationships and help people feel less lonely. They aim to match participants with an individual with similar interests so they can get to know each other by phone, video chat, virtual games, or handwritten letters. All ages are welcome, and they are looking for kind considerate individuals to participate. If interested, you can submit a registration form and they will pair you up, arranging an introductory letter or phone call to get you started. This program is a commitment of 1 to 2 hours a week. Participants can be students from local schools, adults from senior centers and senior living facilities, and people of all ages from clubs and organizations. For a registration form, or for more information, you can call Nicki Scharrig at the ADRC, and that number is 920-746-7153, or you can email her at “nscharrig@co.door.wi.us”.
