Door County Corporation Counsel Grant Thomas could soon be named the acting interim County Administrator. The Door County Board will be asked Tuesday to appoint Thomas to the position for a month, or perhaps longer, while the issues related to a probe into the conduct of County Administrator Michael Serpe are sorted out. The action is being proposed in light of the fact that Serpe is currently on paid administrative leave. He was put in that status in late February after a closed door meeting of the County Administrative Services Committee. The committee has since met with a representative of the legal firm of Godfrey & Kahn to consider the results of an investigation into Serpe’s activities.
