A 75-year old resident of Colgate, Wisconsin died Thursday morning in northern Door County after the four-wheel all-terrain vehicle he was attempting to load onto a trailer fell on top of him. Warren H. Grossman was pronounced dead at Ministry Door County Medical Center. Deputies who arrived at the scene of the accident in the town of Liberty Grove shortly after 10am, found Grossman laying with his head towards the end of the trailer and the Polaris Sportsman 500 four by four ATV on top of and across his chest. The victim was unresponsive, not breathing and noticeably blue in color. The deputies and medical personnel were able to lift the machine off Grossman and he was taken to Sturgeon Bay. His wife witnessed the accident and said her husband was attempting to load the ATV onto the trailer without ramps when it flipped over, pinning him. She said he had ramps for the trailer, but had loaded the machine without ramps in the past. As soon as the accident happened, she called 9-1-1, but, despite a quick response, Grossman could not be saved.
