The Sturgeon Bay Police Department has released the report on a accident that knocked out a traffic signal at the intersection of Highway 42/57 & Ashland Avenue Wednesday. No one was injured in the collision that took place at 7:41PM. According to the report, officers were dispatched to a possible hit & run accident, but learned from dispatch as they were arriving that the driver, a 23 year old Sturgeon Bay man was at home. When officers contacted him, he said he had fallen asleep prior to the collision & didn’t know what he hit. Upon completing their investigation, officers arrested him for driving while intoxicated & inattentive driving. The damaged stop light has since been repaired.
