James Abeyta, who has represented the fourth aldermanic district on the west side of Sturgeon Bay for five years, has filed a certificate of non-candidacy, indicating that he will not be seeking another two year term. Abeyta, who is the chief financial officer for Wiretech Fabricators, was first appointed to the council after the late Dave McAllister became ill. He almost stepped down two years ago, but was talked into running again. He cited a busy life with family & at work as reasons for bowing out. The even numbered districts of the seven person council are up for election in April. The two incumbents currently representing district two & six are Ron Vandertie & Stu Fett.
