4th Avenue Project Update

We start off a new work week with another update on the 4th Avenue reconstruction project in downtown Sturgeon Bay. City engineer Tony Depies says the site is ready for grading.

-Underground utility work began in the alley with the replacement of the sanitary sewer manhole on Kentucky Street. The work should be completed on Wednesday or Thursday.
-Wisconsin Public Service decided its gas main was too close to work around & is working with the contractor to relay the alley gas main in about a week.
-Paving of the alley & parking lot should occur after the gas main has been installed.
-Curb & gutter installation could start as early as this week.

Depies also says a single car pathway has been created on Louisiana Street for cars to cross 4th Avenue. He says motorists should proceed with caution through this crossing because the stone is likely to settle & could form potholes. Drivers should proceed through this area slowly to prevent possible vehicle damage.
