Eagles Win Regional

Southern Door held off a strong second half charge from Algoma and beat the Wolves, 76-62, in a Division 4 regional final on Saturday. The Eagles (23-3) opened a 29-16 lead in the first half, but the Wolves (19-6) ended the half on a 12-3 run to close to within 32-28. Algoma took the lead twice in the second half, but Southern Door’s Tyler Neinas snapped a 47-47 tie with a three pointer that sparked the Eagles to the finish line. Drew Daoust finished with 34 points, Caden Pierre scored all 18 of his points in the first half and Neinas ended with 16. Parker Lischka had 29 to lead Algoma and Chase Romdenne added 13, all in the second half. Bonduel beat Oconto, 70-49, and the Eagles play the Bears (25-1) on Thursday Night (WDOR)

Girls
Assumption pulled away from a 39-36 game with 9:00 minutes to play to beat Sevastopol, 61-42, in a girls Division 5 sectional final in Waupaca. The Pioneers finish the season at (23-5). The Royals (27-1) will play at the State Tournament for the 8th time in school history.
