Kewaunee won a regional championship for the first time since 2020 when they beat Valders 49-46 on Saturday in a WIAA Division 4 girls tournament game in Kewaunee. The Storm (21-4) led 27-13 early in the second half after a Lexi Hanrahan three pointer, but the Vikings (17-8) roared back with a 17-0 run for a 30-27 lead. Kewaunee regained control going at 40-32 only to see Valders tie the game at 42-42. The Storm took the lead by good on an offensive rebound and basket from Breanna Riha with 1:19 to play. Jade Kroll led Kewaunee with 19 points and Hanrahan added 11 while Megan Hochkammer led the Vikings with 19, all in the second half. The Storm will play Manitowoc Lutheran (24-2) at Denmark on Thursday.
