There was a fatal single-vehicle crash in the town of Liberty Grove early Sunday morning. The Door County Sheriff’s Office reports they were notified of the crash site just before 1:30AM. Sheriff’s deputies responded alongside the Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Fire Department and Door County Emergency Services. The investigation indicates the driver was a lone occupant of a 2024 Mazda utility vehicle. The vehicle was westbound on Waters End Road, just north of Sister Bay, when it veered to the left into the south ditch and struck a tree. The sheriff’s report states that the driver “succumbed to his injuries on scene”.
Waters End Road was closed off for approximately 4 hours while responders tended to the scene. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin, and the incident remains under investigation.
