Wind Chill Advisory Issued

The National Weather Service in Green Bay has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for much of the WDOR listening area, including Door & Kewaunee Counties.

…WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTILĀ  NOON THURSDAY (2/27/14)

* WIND CHILL VALUES 20 TO 25 BELOW ZERO ARE EXPECTED THIS MORNING.

* EXPOSED SKIN WILL BE SUSCEPTIBLE TO FROSTBITE IN 20 TO 30 MINUTES.

* THE LOWEST WIND CHILLS ARE EXPECTED BETWEEN 6 AM AND 10 AM.

* GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS WILL PRODUCE SOMEĀ  BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW… MAINLY IN OPEN RURAL AREAS.

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND WINDS WILL GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROSTBITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. IF GOING OUTDOORS…
