Packers Hope To Hit Bye On Winning Note

The Green Bay Packers (5-3) look to extend their winning streak to four games as they play the Arizona Cardinals (4-4) Sunday at Lambeau Field.  The Packers have consecutive wins over Houston, Saint Louis and Jacksonville and have moved into a tie with the Vikings for second place in the NFC North. With their bye looming, Green Bay would like nothing more than a 6-3 record after starting the season 1-3.  This week, head coach Mike McCarthy has made sure that his team is not looking ahead to their week off…

The Cardinals are heading in the opposite direction of the Packers.  After starting the season 4-0, Arizona has lost their last four falling to Saint Louis, Buffalo, Minnesota and San Francisco.  Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is still expecting to get the Cardinals best effort…

Statistically, the Cardinals have the fourth best defense in the NFL (21st against the run, fourth against the pass).  Arizona has given up the fourth fewest points in the league and are tied for first with 26 sacks.  Packers right tackle Bryan Bulaga has plenty of respect for what the Cardinals defense has done…

The Arizona offense has struggled through eight games, ranking 31st in yards per game (289.9) and 31st in points per game (15.9).  Its a beat up offense as well as the Cardinals have six players from that side of the ball listed on the injury report.  That includes left tackle D’Anthony Batiste (probable) and right guard Andy Snyder (out).  Packers defensive end B.J. Raji talked about facing the Cardinals battered offensive line…

Kickoff of Sunday’s game between the Packers and Cardinals is set for Noon.

The Packers are 43-22-4 all-time against the Cardinals, including a 6-0 record at Lambeau Field.

The last time these two teams met was in the Wild Card round of the 2009 NFC Playoffs.  That game was played at Arizona and the Cardinals won in overtime, 51-45.

Cardinals left guard Daryn Colledge faces his old team for the first time after signing with the Cardinals following the 2010 season.  Colledge enjoyed his time in a Packers uniform…

Colledge appeared in every game for the Packers from 2006 through 2010.  He started 76 of those contests.
