Packers Are NFC North Champions

The Green Bay Packers (10-4) locked up their second straight NFC North championship Sunday, as they beat the Chicago Bears (8-6), 21-13 at Soldier Field.  The Packers have won eight of its last nine, they have beaten the Bears six straight times and they extended their franchise-record winning streak against the NFC North to 12 games.  All of that and Green Bay will host at least one NFL playoff game this postseason. According to head coach Mike McCarthy, it was a team win for his team…

Aaron Rodgers completed 23 of 36 passes for 291 yards and three touchdowns.  The Packers quarterback feels that his team is getting healthier and better as the postseason approaches…

After a scoreless first quarter, the Bears took the lead in the second when quarterback Jay Cutler tossed a 15-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Marshall.  However, the Packers would rally as Rodgers tossed three scoring strikes to receiver James Jones for 21 consecutive points.  It is the first career three-touchdown game for Jones…

The Bears did plenty of talking in the week leading up to the game.  In fact, Marshall mentioned corner Tramon Williams while talking about his dislike for the Packers.  Williams said that the Sunday’s outcome was the loudest talking of all…

The Packers have two games left before the playoffs begin.  Safety Morgan Burnett said the Packers still have work to do and that work starts this week…

The Packers will play their final regular-season home game this Sunday when they welcome the Tennessee Titans to Lambeau Field.  Kickoff is at Noon.

After Sunday’s loss, the Bears advantage in the all-time series with the Packers is 92-88-6.

The Packers have now won back-to-back NFC North titles for the first time since the team won three consecutive division championships in 2002, 2003, 2004.

Mason Crosby’s  tough season continues.  The Packers kicker was 0-for-2 on field goal attempts, missing wide right from 43 yards and hitting the left upright on a 42-yard try.  Crosby was going to enjoy the win and the division championship before worrying about his day…

Crosby has now made 17 of 29 field goal attempts this season.
