The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER STORM WARNING, which is in effect until 6pm Tuesday, for northern Marinette County.
Door County is NOT included in this warning.
SNOW WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES THIS MORNING…BUT SHOULD
GRADUALLY TAPER OFF DURING THE AFTERNOON. SNOW SHOWERS WILL
LIKELY CONTINUE IN THE LAKE SUPERIOR SNOWBELT FROM TONIGHT
THROUGH THURSDAY…SO ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATIONS WILL OCCUR IN
ADDITIONAL SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 4 TO 6 INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED
BY LATE AFTERNOON…WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS ANTICIPATED NEAR
THE UPPER MICHIGAN BORDER.
The National Weather Service has also issued a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY, which is in effect until 6pm Tuesday, for the counties of Oconto and Southern Marinette.
SNOW WILL CONTINUE ACROSS CENTRAL AND FAR NORTHEAST
WISCONSIN…THEN GRADUALLY TAPER OFF THIS AFTERNOON. FOR
LOCATIONS NEAR THE BAYSHORE AND NORTHWEST OF THE FOX VALLEY…A MIX OF RAIN…FREEZING RAIN AND SNOW WILL CHANGE TO ALL SNOW EARLY IN THE DAY.
ADDITIONAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES ARE EXPECTED IN
MOST AREAS. THE EXCEPTION WILL BE NEAR THE BAYSHORE AND
NORTHWEST OF THE FOX VALLEY…WHERE A MINOR ICE ACCUMULATION
WILL BE FOLLOWED BY SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES.
