The National Weather Service in Green Bay has issued a Wind Advisory, which will be in effect from 6pm this evening to 6am Sunday, for the counties of Door, Kewaunee, and Manitowoc.
Strong west to northwest winds will develop after 6pm this evening and continue tonight, then diminish toward daybreak on Sunday.
West to northwest winds will increase to 25 – 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph.
The strong winds will create hazardous travel conditions for motorists with high profile vehicles, especially on north and south oriented roads and highways.
In addition to the wind, scattered snow showers will develop along the cold front late this afternoon. The snow showers may be briefly heavy at times, with visibilities reduced to a mile or less. Wet roads will quickly freeze later this afternoon and evening as temperatures plummet, so roads may become ice covered. Motorists should anticipate locally hazardous driving conditions.
