Wolves Advance as Pierre Hits Game Winner

Eagles Host Tigers in Regional Semi-Final

Schmidt Named All-WIAC, Selner and Richard Honored Too


Taylor Schmidt (Algoma), a sophmore guard at UW-Oshkosh, has been selected to the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women’s basketball team by the league coaches.  In 16 WIAC games, Schmidt averaged 11.9 points per game. Wolves Take On Shiocton


After winning their fifth straight regional championship last Saturday, the Algoma girls basketball team will play Shiocton in a WIAA Division 4 Sectional Semi-Final at Seymour on Thursday.  The Wolves (19-4) are the Packerland Conference Champions with tournament wins over Gibraltar (48-34) and Reedsville (57-45).  The Chiefs (14-10) placed fourth in the Central Wisconsin – Eight and have beat Iola-Scandinavia (49-48) and league champion Bonduel (57-45) … Continue reading

Another Award for Schmitz


Belmont Abbey distance runner Lucy Schmitz is the first athlete in men’s and women’s track and field to be named most valuable athlete. The 2013 Indoor Freshman of the Year, Schmitz won Conference Carolinas titles in the 5000 meter run and the 1 mile run and added a second place finish in the 3000 meter run at the Conference Carolinas indoor championships.  Schmitz is now a seven time … Continue reading
