Meet The Division 3 Girls Basketball State Field

Kewaunee (25-1) is the defending Division 3 state champion and returns to state for a third straight year. The Storm have been to state a total of three times, finishing runner-up to Altoona in 2011 before beating Oostburg for their lone state title (2012).  Kewaunee shared the Packerland Conference title with Algoma this season and they won the Ashwaubenon sectional.  Kewaunee has won 24 straight since losing at Algoma back on December 13th.  Head coach Lynn Geier (178-60, 8th season) thinks that loss helped her team…

Lodi (24-2) is at state for the first time ever.  The Capitol Conference’s North Division champs won the Sun Prairie sectional to advance to state.  Four seasons ago, the Blue Devils finished with just seven wins.  Now they are one of four teams left standing in Division 3.  Head coach Kristi Paskey (87-81, 8th season) said this trip to state for her team is the result of a lot of hard work…

Neillsville (26-0) is making their fourth appearance at state and like Kewaunee, they are a defending state champion.  The Warriors first ever title came in Division 4 last season.  Despite losing some key components from last year’s team, Neillsville won the Cloverbelt Conference’s Eastern Division and the River Falls sectional on their way back to state.  Head coach John Gaier (300-73, 16th season) thought that this year’s leaders stepped up…

East Troy (25-1) is making its second straight appearance at the Divison 3 state tournament.  In their first and only other appearance at state, the Trojans lost in the semifinals to Oostburg.  The Rock Valley Conference’s North Division champions this season won the Arrowhead sectional by avenging last year’s postseason loss to Oostburg.  Head coach Jeff Brown (92-50, 6th season) has ten seniors on his roster…

East Troy made 156 of 427 three pointers this season, led by Breanna Gaspervich (50 of 116) and Rachel Atchison (73 of 190).  Atchison was named WSN’s Top Senior Shooter
