Eagles Win Softball Opener

Southern Door beat Sevastopol 11-1 in 6 innings on Monday as the Packerland Conference softball season is finally underway.  While it took awhile for the season to get started, it didn’t take long for the Eagles to get going offensively as they scored 4 runs in the first inning.  LaRae Bagnall had a 2 run single and Courtney VanHout added a two run triple to fuel the Southern Door attack early.  Kelsey Pavlik added 2 hits while Rachel Andres and Cheyenne McFarlin had a hit and an RBI in the game while Sam Renard walked three times.  Andres allowed 1 run on 2 hits in the first five innings to earn the win for Southern Door.  Cassie Borkovetz and Adeline Nelson had singles for the Pioneers while Maddie LeClair had an RBI groundout that scored Olivia LeMeiux.
