Blazers Stun Southern Door

Green Bay NEW Lutheran beat Southern Door 7-6 in the only Packerland Conference baseball game played on Thursday.  NEW Lutheran scored twice in the opening inning and then added 5 runs in the 2nd inning after two were out to lead 7-0.  Jed McClellan and Noah Gosse had 2-run base hits to spark the Blazers attack.  The Eagles Nick LeCaptain had an RBI double in the bottom of the 2nd as Southern Door closed to within 7-2.  Mitchel Neubauer added a 3-run double in the 4th and Austin Rohe followed with an RBI triple to make it 7-6.  Southern Door had one last chance in the bottom of the 7th after a leadoff double from Zach Marchant, but the rally was quickly extinguished by the Blazers as Nolan Wagner was tagged out by catcher Tanner Natzke trying to steal home with one out.  Noah Gosse pitched the first four innings for the win with Tanner Viegut working the final 3 innings for the save.  McClellan had 3 hits and Viegut 2 hits for NEW Lutheran.  Alex Ploor started and took the loss for Southern Door while LeCaptain had 3 hits for the Eagles.
