Wellness Center Temporarily Closed

The need to fill personnel slots has led to the temporary closing of the Wellness Center of Door County in Sturgeon Bay. The organization’s web site indicates that a re-organization is in process. With the retirement of Executive Director Michelle Geiger-Bronsky in February & another resignation, the organization found itself lacking two key staffers at its facility at 312 North 5th Avenue. A spokesman told WDOR News that the search for replacements is ongoing. However, it is unclear when the clinic will re-open. A letter is expected to be sent to clients explaining the situation.

The Wellness Center began operating in Sturgeon Bay in 2003, offering patients services ranging from birth control to mental health programming. In July of 2011, the small bungalow that acted as home base for the organization was replaced with an 8,000 square foot facility.
