Students at Sevastopol School in Institute compiled the second highest district score out of 424 school districts in Wisconsin as part of the 2016/17 state report cards recently released by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. Sevastopol’s score of 94.5 falls into the “significantly exceeds expectations” category. Voters Will Decide on Premier Resort Tax in Spring Election

The Sturgeon Bay City Council approved the idea of establishing the city as a premier resort area. Having the designation would allow the city to add a half a cent to the state sales tax locally to generate revenue earmarked for accelerating the program to upgrade streets and sidewalks. A mobile home on County Road O is considered a total loss after a fire Thursday morning. The Southern Door Fire Department was paged out at 8:24AM and spent most of the morning at the scene.
