Michigan Man Arrested After Attempting to Elude & Flee From Officers

A 26-year old Menominee, Michigan man was arrested on multiple charges early Monday morning after he attempted to elude police & crashed into a home off Egg Harbor Road in Sturgeon Bay. At 3:27AM, officers first spotted the vehicle traveling over the center line on Jefferson Street & noticed it appeared to be accelerating as it headed East. Another officer, parked on Egg Harbor Road, saw the same vehicle traveling faster than the normal speed for the area. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver refused to comply. A short time later, his vehicle struck a snow bank & crashed into a nearby residence. The suspect attempted to flee on foot, but was arrested after a brief chase. He was not injured. The Michigan man was cited for drunken driving, knowingly fleeing an officer, reckless driving, & obstruction. He was taken to the Door County Jail. The man also faces citations for a number traffic violations.
