House Fire in Sturgeon Bay

A child playing with a lighter in an attic area is the suspected cause of a house fire at 542 Iowa Street in Sturgeon Bay. The fire call came in at 10:30AM Monday & 8 units & 23 firefighters responded. Dietman says the second floor of the home sustained significant damage from the fire & the fact that walls & ceilings had to be pulled down during the firefighting operation. Assistant Chief Dietman says two ambulances were on hand with additional personnel, the Sturgeon Bay Police Department responded & the American Red Cross helped the occupants of the home. Fire crews checked out at 2:08PM.
