For as long as many people can remember, the US Coast Guard has had a presence in Door County. From the Sturgeon Bay Canal Station to the Coast Guard Cutter Mobile Bay, to the station on Washington Island, Coast Guard crews have provided help in a variety of ways when called upon. Spritka also pointed out that Coast Guardsmen have a presence in the area that includes several locations in Michigan, Door County & the Fox Valley.
