Burglaries to Summer Cottages in Town of Union

The Door County Sheriff’s Department is investigating reports of nine burglaries to trailers used as summer cottages in the Chaudoir’s Dock area of the Town of Union. While all of the units were damaged on entry, thefts of flat screen televisions & power tools were only discovered in four of them. It appears that the intruder left older televisions behind. In all cases, doors were pried open on the trailers to gain entrance. Lieutenant Jeff Farley says a determination of the extent of the loss won’t be known until all of the affected trailers are inventoried. Farley also notes that it’s possible other structures in the area may have been burglarized last week. It appears that the break-ins could have been the work of the same individual or individuals.
