Berceau Advances to Finals

Mason Berceau of Luxemburg-Casco won two matches on Friday at the WIAA Individual State Wrestling Championships at the Kohl Center in Madison.  Mitchell Overbeck of Southern Door lost in the semi-finals to undefeated Logan Maurer of Brodhead/Juda.  Overbeck, Kewaunee’s Jesse Steinhorst and Oconto’s Aiden Wusterbarth and Elton Kelsey have matches in the consolation round starting Saturday morning.  The Finals begin at 6:00 Saturday Night. Vikes and Wolves in Regional Semi-Final Tonight

Gibraltar will play at Algoma in a WIAA Division 4 Regional Semi-Final on Friday Night. The Vikings (14-8) rallied from a ten point halftime deficit to beat Brillion 38-35 on Tuesday while the top seeded Wolves (17-4) had a first round bye. Balanced Eagles Win Again

Steinhorst and Severin Earn State Wins

Kewaunee’s Jesse Steinhorst and Sam Severin had wins the preliminary round of the WIAA Individual State Wrestling Tournament on Thursday Night in Madison.  The other six area qualifiers all lost their preliminary matches.  Southern Door’s Mitchell Overbeck and Luxemburg-Casco’s Mason Berceau join Steinhorst and Severin in the quarterfinals starting at 11:15am on Friday. Door County Snowmobile Trails Update

The Northern Section of the Door County Snowmobile Trail system has been upgraded to fair condition.  The trails in Peninsula State Park are said to be in good condition.  The Northern Section is basically from Egg Harbor to Baileys Harbor- North to Gills Rock.  All of the Northern trails have been groomed. Big Ten Swim Meet Underway

The 2015 Big Ten Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships began last night in Iowa City . In the 200 medley relay, the Golden Gophers team that includes Sevastopol’s Conner McHugh finished with a time of 1:25.71 for a NCAA B cut and fourth place finish. Blazers and Eagles in Regular Season Finale
