Raiders at Eagles as Regional Tourney Opens
Two Rivers will play at Southern Door as the girls WIAA regional basketball tournament begins on Tuesday. The Raiders (9-13) finished in fifth place in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference that was won by Kiel. The Eagles (17-4) finished runner up behind league champion Algoma in the Packerland. Prokash Leads Wolves
Algoma beat Manitowoc Lutheran, 73-63, in a boys non-conference basketball game on Monday Night in Manitowoc. Eliot Prokash scored 20 points to lead the Wolves, Casey Mueller added 12 while Austen Dart and Jacob Lifto had 10 each. Tanner Krueger scored a game high 38 points to lead the Lancers. Algoma scored 29 points in the first quarter and never trailed again.
Ten Wrestlers Advance to State
Southern Door’s Mitchell Overbeck and Mason Berceau of Luxemburg-Casco won championships at the WIAA Division 2 Oconto Falls Sectional on Saturday and headline a list of 10 wrestlers that advanced to the Individual State Championships at the Kohl Center in Madison. Alexander’s Wins Broomball Championship
Alexander’s beat the Cornerstone Pub in a shootout to win the 2015 Hilander Cup in Sister Bay’s Annual Broomball Tournament last Sunday. Six teams battled for the championship despite the cold and windy conditions. Alexander’s roster includes Patrick Foy, Mike Jarman, Rick Chomeau, Missy Siebolt, Tony Fisher, Sheena Zielke, Steve Chomeau, Ian Chomeau, Zak Gillis and Mike Jaeckel.
